Dementia Support, Built on Real Experience
At Solid Holistic Care, we know that dementia doesn’t just affect the individual — it impacts families, routines, and daily life. That’s why our care is built on a foundation of empathy, deep expertise, and meaningful connection.
Founded right here in Newcastle, our service is led by Tobi, who has spent many years working directly with those diagnosed with Dementia. This hands-on experience shapes every aspect of our approach — from how we communicate to how we care.’

Seeing the Person, Not the Condition
Getting the proper support starts with the right foundation — here’s how we build it.
- Listening to family stories and histories
- Using detailed questionnaires to understand needs and routines
- Spending time in person to form genuine connections
- Matching participants with carers and peers who align with their personality and comfort level
This process ensures our participants are supported not just clinically, but emotionally, by people who get them.
Short-term dementia care is provided by trained support workers, giving families in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Maitland
a trusted break while their loved one receives safe, compassionate support.
We deliver personalised care plans for people with dementia, including memory support, behavioural strategies,
and one-on-one emotional care — tailored to every stage of the journey.
We assist with tasks like cleaning, laundry, and home organisation to promote a calm, structured home environment that
supports wellbeing and safety.
Our team helps manage complex medication schedules, ensuring timely delivery and monitoring for any side effects.
and providing peace of mind for families.
Our SIL services offer a safe, structured environment where individuals with dementia can live with dignity. We support daily
routines, personal care, and social engagement with around-the-clock consistency from familiar carers.
Emotional and behavioural support for people with dementia, including counselling and support groups to help
manage anxiety, depression, and confusion, for both individuals and their families.
NDIS Funding and Services for Dementia Care
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a critical component of our dementia care services. Solid Holistic Care provides NDIS funding and support that can be tailored to individuals with permanent and significant disabilities, including those caused by dementia. Solid Holistic Care offers a range of NDIS services designed to enhance the lives of our clients.

Supported Living for Dementia
For individuals with dementia, Supported Independent Living (SIL) isn’t just about housing — it’s about creating a safe, familiar environment where they can thrive.
We integrate SIL within our dementia care services, providing:
-
Safe, adaptable home settings
-
24/7 support from a dedicated, consistent team
-
Routines tailored to cognitive needs
-
A strong focus on dignity, autonomy, and quality of life
Whether you’re just beginning to explore SIL options or transitioning from another provider, our team ensures the journey is smooth and respectful.

Trusted Faces, Ongoing Support
Our participants are never left wondering who’s walking through the door.
We prioritise consistent staffing so our team knows each individual’s routines, personality, and even subtle non-verbal cues. This consistency builds familiarity, reduces anxiety, and improves emotional well-being — especially as verbal communication may fade.
Adapting Care as Needs Change
Support That Evolves With You
Dementia is progressive, and so is our care. From early memory challenges to more advanced stages, we stay attuned to the changing needs of our participants.
Our care plans are regularly updated to reflect:
- Communication preferences
- Shifting mobility or cognitive needs
- Emotional and behavioural patterns
We work alongside families and other providers to ensure nothing is missed — always with compassion at the core.

NDIS and Dementia Support FAQs
What funding options are available?
Supported Independent Living services are funded for eligible people by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The NDIS does not cover the cost of rent, utilities, meals and transport. This is paid to Solid Holistic Care as residential fees for the running costs of the home and is most often paid out of your Disability Support Pension. The only additional costs you will have are medical costs and personal spending money.
